The Lab Rat is a high gain distortion pedal. Tones range from classic overdrive sounds to ratty, high gain, saturated distortion.

Clip switch changes the clipping diodes. Left is symmetrical silicone diode clipping, and right is symmetrical LED clipping.

Volume is output level.

Distortion is the amount of distortion

Filter is a passive low pass filter, turn clockwise to cut treble. It is very interactive with the Sweep control.

Sweep alters the cutoff frequency for one of the two high pass filters in the distortion circuit. A way to manage your bass response with the amount of distortion you’re using (interactive with the Distortion control). All the way down the tone is bright and grainy. As you turn it up the character starts to shift towards a smoother overdrive sound.

Hand wired construction with free standing jacks. This pedal should stand the test of time but if something does go wrong, it's designed to be worked on easily. No need to throw it in the trash or the non working pedal pile.
